I am dealing with the melancholy that comes with this season. No matter how hard I try to not have expectations…they are still in there waiting to be blown up.

Do you mean expectations about Christmas being this wonderful, amazing time of peace on earth and goodwill to all men?
I keep reading posts about people feeling strangely empty this advent season. It feels so low-key this year and yes, terribly empty. I wonder how much of that is having the wind taken out of our sails of buying up big now we’re sitting under the global financial crisis cloud?
